David Monyak has a B.A. in Physics from Rice University, and an M.D. from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Theology is an avocation. He is currently a staff Radiation Oncologist at the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute in Minneapolis, MN.

Linda Monyak has B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin, and an M.A. degree in Old Testament Studies from Luther Seminary.
