News from the African Friends in Need Network (AFINNET), June 14, 2004

On February 15, 2004 the Rt. Rev. Dr. George Sinabulya, retired Bishop of the Diocese of Central Buganda in the Anglican Church in Uganda (Central East Africa), and President of AFINNET (African Friends in Need Network), preached at all services at St. Johns and invited us to join him in supporting his work. St. Johns contributed $4,500 for Bishop George's work, including $500.00 raised by a Children's Ministry bake sale for purchase of a cow.

Dear Rev. Mark Kelm

RECTOR ST. JOHNS EPISCOPAL CHURCH IN THE WILDERNESS

MINNESOTA-USA.

Greetings in the name of our Lord. Many thanks for your message, I'm sorry for the delay in sending you a report, I have been up and down trying to have things work out despite financial road-blocks, but God is on our side, I'm happy to say so, and He has been good to us.

AFINNET WOMEN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: On behalf of AFINNET MANAGEMENT BOARD and on my own behalf, we register our sincere thanks and gratitude to the parish of ST.JOHNS CHURCH IN THE WILDERNESS for the donation of US $4,500 towards AFINNET programs. This fund has made a great impact to our work and moved us forward. It has been utilized as follows:

I'm trying to scan the relevant photographs for the classroom block under construction and you will find that this donation has made a great impact. We are still struggling to see that we complete this building so that all training activities proceed as per our plans. The last phase requires about US $10,000.

We have already purchased 10 sewing machines for the tailoring training and we have been promised some from the WORKAID organization.

My plan for my next visit is AUGUST - SEPTEMBER 2004, as I'm sure Mr. Paul Mwassa is about to discuss with you in detail. I expect to travel with Edith my wife and REV. MICHAEL LUBOWA vicar ST. ANDREWS CATHEDRAL MITYANA. We pray that God fulfils all this and we need a lot of your support.

May God bless you in all your ministry; please convey my utmost greetings to the entire congregation at ST. JOHNS CHURCH.

May God bless you,

+BISHOP DR.GEORGE SINABULYA

PRESIDENT-AFINNET (UGANDA)
